SOLID OUTING FOR THORNDYKE

David Thorndyke and the #67 Thorsons EVT Chevrolet returned to action for round number 10 of the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series this past weekend at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (CTMP) this past Sunday. Once again Thorndyke and company had a strong race performance. The weekend started off in a difficult manner when Thorndyke felt a vibration in the #67 Thorsons EVT Chevrolet. The team spent most of the first practice session diagnosing the problem. "It was an issue with the brake calipers," explained Crew Chief Kattie Smilovsky. Once back on track Thorndyke was pleased with the performance of the #67 Thorsons EVT Chevrolet and optimistic heading into qualifying. During the qualifying laps however didn't have quite the speed the team was expecting. "I thought we would have a quicker time, but I still felt good about the race," said Car Chief Adam Thorndyke. When the green flag waved on the 51 lap race driver David Thorndyke was in his usual form moving the #67 Thorsons EVT Chevrolet forward in the field. The team had planned an early pit stop for fuel and then it would be up to the driver the rest of the way. Thorndyke proved to be his usual consistent self throughout the race gaining positions in the #67 Thorsons EVT Chevrolet. With a little help from the four caution periods that bunched the field up Thorndyke gained eight positions during the race, no easy task with the level of competition and a challenging road course. Afterwards Thorndyke was very happy with the performance of the #67 Thorsons EVT Chevrolet "The car held together really well in the race, it was a lot better than it was in practice or qualifying, we got some stuff sorted out and worked out really well for us. The car's in one piece, not really a mark on it, I'm really happy with our day today" Broadcast Info: Fans can tune in to watch all the action from CTMP Saturday September 5th at Noon ET on TSN and Friday September 25th at 7PM ET on RDS2. This was the final race of the season for David Thorndyke and the #67 Thorsons EVT Chevrolet team. They encourage fans to stay focused on the final race of the season coming September 19th at Kawartha Speedway near Peterborough, ON.
